Having a focus on making maps competitively viable wouldn’t reasonably make them boring, lack creativity, or reliant on UNCS theme. Pro-team is basically the undeserving scapegoat for 343 releasing maps that were just as bad competitively as they were causally. The maps were designed to suit 343s desired style of Halo 5 gameplay, and then some of them were used in HCS. HCS used a select few of the maps that were available to it… and even of those few several had massive imbalances- imbalances that wouldn’t exist if they were truly “competitive focused” maps. HCS lived off of large prize pools… not competitively designed maps or mechanics. Likewise radar, the auto heavy weapon balancing, the Spartan abilities - basically core identity of Halo5 was antithetical to competitive play. Nor did they talk 343 out of releasing unbalanced maps (which should be clear given the number of unbalanced maps). You folks are massively overestimating pro-teams influence.
